Asian Eyelid Surgery
More and more Asian patients are expressing interest in double eyelid surgery. Most Asians have have a unique appearance of their eyelids. When patients come to me they express a preference for a specific look based on their specific ethnicity, for example Chinese, or Japanese, or Korean, etc. A person who is Filipino will have a different fold than a person of cheese heritage, and so on.*
Most, who perform Asian eyelid procedures, do so by giving the similar results for most patients. Most tend to look western; however, the patient’s ethnic background, and desire, must be taken into consideration. A slight change in technique can be made to create a more “customized” outcome according to the patient’s wishes resulting in a more natural look.*
This procedure can be performed in the office and under local anesthesia.
