Labiaplasty (Vaginoplasty) In San Francisco
About Labiaplasty / Vaginoplasty
Labiaplasty refers to a procedure to enhance, reduce and/or reshape the size of the labia minora. There are a variety of reasons for this procedure, including damage caused to the labia during childbirth, pain/discomfort, aging, genetics, or aesthetics.
Essentially, this procedure is the trimming of the inner (labia minora) and/or the outer (labia majora) lips of the vagina, and a growing number of women are choosing to have this procedure. Enlarged vaginal lips can result in pain during intercourse, or even tight fitting clothing.
Vaginal rejuvenation (vaginoplasty) involves tightening the vagina. During childbirth, the vagina can tear, or become stretched. This procedure causes tightening of the vagina. It does not increase sexual experience.
Risks of Labiaplasty / Vaginoplasty
As with any surgery there are risks involved with labiaplasty/vaginoplasty. These include infection, bleeding, numbness, pigment changes, chronic pain (due to scarring), and an unsatisfactory cosmetic outcome. Also, asymmetry, and decreased sexual function can occur.
